About Mrs. Terrell

Welcome to the 2017-18 school year!  I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself as your child’s resource teacher and express my excitement about working with your child this year. This is my first year teaching in the Mount Prospect School District and eleventh year teaching special education in Illinois.   I received degrees in elementary and special education from Indiana University and am currently working towards a Masters in Reading at Olivet Nazarene University.

Prior to joining the Fairview team, I married and moved to Arlington Heights with my husband, Jonathan.  We share a fun life together and enjoy watching movies, dining out and taking nightly walks around the neighborhood.  I can't express how much of a blessing it will be to now live and work within the same community.

Teaching is a true joy of mine and I am excited about working with your child this year.  My goal is to collaborate with you and the classroom teacher to provide your child with an individualized education plan that promotes success, self-confidence and independence.  I believe that every child, with positive supports in place, can achieve his or her goals. I look forward to celebrating with you as your child meets or exceeds these goals!

One looks back with appreciation to the brilliant teachers, but with gratitude to those who touched our human feelings. The curriculum is so much necessary raw material, but warmth is the vital element for the growing plant and for the soul of the child.
